Celebrating the life of
Jeanne G. Kirkland
June 09, 1947 - November 19, 2024
Jeanne G. Kirkland, 77, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on November 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeanne was born at the Patuxent River Naval Base in 1947 and graduated from Savannah High School in 1965. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist for Candler Hospital for 29 years and then for Memorial Health University Medical Center for 19 years. She truly loved the work she did and never intended to retire.
A beautiful soul and light in this world, Jeanne was an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and generous woman. The only things she seemed to love more than shopping was helping people – particularly her thousands of patients over the span of her career – and spending time with her dear friends and family.
Jeanne is survived by Bobby Kirkland, her husband of 34 years; her mother Betty Dunn of Savannah, GA; her sisters Jane Greer of Savannah, GA, and Margaret (James) Stevenson of Darien, GA; her brother Thomas Klidonas of Delray Beach, FL; her sons Barr (Tara) Nobles and Jason Nobles of Savannah, GA; her precious grandchildren Brandy Anderson-Bradley of Rincon, GA; Tim Nobles of Savannah, GA; Katie Nobles of Raleigh, NC; Madison Braswell of Mishawaka, IN; Cailyn Motta of Baltimore, MD; Baylee Nobles of Rincon, GA; three great grandchildren; and her beloved dog Lucy and guinea pig Charlie. Jeanne was preceded in death by her father Richard Greer and her son Chris Nobles.
Visitation and a short service will take place at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home on Hodgson Memorial Drive Monday, November 25th from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that contributions be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah.
I send my deepest condolences to the family of Jeanne. Her commitment and live to coming in for work and helping the lives of others was an inspiration to everyone who worked with her. I had the pleasure to work with her for the past 3 years and she always gave a hand when she could. Rest peacefully Jeanne ❤️ MHUMC will miss you dearly.

I started to work with Jeanne as a student when I was 17. She was my supervisor and just as kind and gentle then. When she became a mom, she talked about her boys all the time! We raised our kids together. We worked together at Candler and the Memorial. She just never changed a bit! I am praying for your family as I know this loss is unbearable and all our prayers are with you!
